The thematic section on 'Exclusion with Access: Performative Inclusivity in Global IR' was published in Issue 3 (Vol. 19) in 2025. It explores moments of performed inclusivity, which, nevertheless, can be exclusionary and hierarchical. The thematic section papers look at different facets of 'exclusion with access': from the deconstruction of the EU's soft power and enlargement practices which retain the sense of civilisation superiority and exclusivity to the marginalised acceptance of non-Western philosophical traditions (Kautilya) and the limited inclusion of Global South (Latin American) scholarly voices in mainstream IR.
