Dr Tommi Koivula works as an assistant professor at the Department of Warfare, the Finnish National Defence University. He defended his PhD in International Relations at the University of Tampere in 2004.
Previously, he has been a lecturer at the University of Tampere and a visiting researcher at the University of Kent at Canterbury (UK) in 2001. Tommi’s current research areas include NATO, EU security and defence policy and International Relations theory.
Currently, he is engaged in a research project on the past, present and future of NATO burden sharing.
